Roofing Contractor in Murray, Utah
Dedication Roofing serves Murray from West Valley City, roughly fifteen minutes east across the valley, and has roofed homes and commercial buildings in Salt Lake County since 2017. We handle residential shingle replacement and repair, flat and low-slope commercial roofs, emergency leak response, and fascia, soffit and siding.
Many Murray neighborhoods are made up of older, mid-century homes, and a lot of those roofs have been re-covered more than once. That history matters on a re-roof: layered shingles hide soft decking, undersized ventilation and flashing that was reused rather than replaced. We strip to the deck and quote what we find, not what we assume.
Tear-Off, Decking and Ventilation on Older Murray Homes
On an older Murray home, the first question is how many roofs are already on it. The International Residential Code, which Utah adopts, does not allow a new covering over two or more existing layers, and even a single extra layer adds weight and hides problems. Dedication Roofing quotes a full tear-off on these homes so the decking can be inspected and any soft or delaminated boards replaced before new underlayment goes down.
Once the deck is open, we deal with the two details older attics usually get wrong. The first is the ice barrier, which code requires from the eave edge to at least 24 inches inside the exterior wall line in Salt Lake County’s climate zone. The second is ventilation: balanced intake at the soffit and exhaust near the ridge, sized to the attic. Many mid-century homes were built with little or no soffit intake, so adding a ridge vent alone does not solve the problem. We check both and include the fix in the quote.
Flat Roofs for Murray Businesses
Murray has a large commercial base, from retail and office space along the State Street corridor to medical and light industrial buildings, and many of those buildings sit under flat or low-slope roofs. That is the work Dedication Roofing specializes in.
As an IB (Industry’s Best) certified applicator, we install membrane systems to manufacturer specification, which qualifies the building for a 25-Year No Dollar Limit warranty backed by the manufacturer rather than the installer alone. Where a membrane is still sound, a protective roof coating can extend its life for less than a replacement, and we will tell you which option the roof actually supports.
On homes, we install Malarkey shingle systems. Malarkey’s wind warranty rises from 110 mph to 130 mph only when the matching starter and hip and ridge shingles and the required nailing pattern are used, so ask any contractor to name those components in the quote.
Fascia, Soffit and Siding Repair in Murray
Fascia and soffit on older Murray homes are often original wood, and they rot from the back, where gutter overflow and ice dams soak them for years before anything shows on the face of the board.
We replace damaged fascia board, install vented soffit so the attic has proper intake, and repair or replace siding around the roof line. On most single-family homes, fascia and soffit work takes one to two days. The variable is the rafter tails behind the board: if they have rotted too, that repair adds time, and it is the main thing that changes a quote once the old material comes off.
Roofing in Murray means planning for heavy winter snow, spring wind and summer hail. We repair leaks, inspect roofs before a sale or after a storm, and replace roofs when repair no longer makes sense. After storm damage we photograph and document everything your insurance adjuster will need and tell you honestly whether the roof should be repaired or replaced. Estimates are always free and in writing.

Common questions
FAQs
Do you offer free roofing estimates in Murray?
Yes. Dedication Roofing provides free, no-obligation inspections and written estimates for Murray homes and commercial buildings, with photos of what we found on the roof so you can compare other quotes against the same information.
How quickly can you respond to a roof leak in Murray?
Dedication Roofing is based in West Valley City, about fifteen minutes from Murray, and prioritizes active leaks. We tarp or temporarily seal the roof to stop water getting in, then schedule the permanent repair once the weather allows.
Do you pull permits for roofing work in Murray?
Yes. Dedication Roofing pulls the permits Murray City requires for roofing work, so you are not filing anything yourself. Permit and inspection timing is built into the schedule we quote.
Can you put a new roof over my old shingles?
Usually not on older Murray homes. Code does not allow a new covering over two or more existing layers, and even where one layer would allow it, a tear-off is the only way to inspect the decking and install the ice barrier correctly. We quote tear-off as standard.
Do you work on commercial flat roofs in Murray?
Yes. Flat and low-slope commercial roofs are our specialty. Dedication Roofing is IB certified, which qualifies installations for a 25-Year No Dollar Limit manufacturer warranty, and we also repair and coat existing membranes.
What warranties come with a new roof?
IB membrane flat roofs can carry a 25-Year No Dollar Limit warranty from the manufacturer, with no dollar cap on a covered claim. Malarkey shingle roofs carry the manufacturer’s warranty for the system installed, with enhanced wind coverage when the full Malarkey system is used.
