Roofing Contractor in Taylorsville, Utah
Taylorsville sits right next to our West Valley City base, so most Taylorsville jobs are about ten minutes away. Dedication Roofing, a licensed roofing contractor, has worked across the Salt Lake Valley since 2017, replacing and repairing shingle roofs, installing flat and low-slope commercial roofs, responding to emergency leaks, and repairing fascia, soffit and siding.
Many Taylorsville homes date from the 1970s and 1980s, which means plenty of roofs here are on their second covering, and many are reaching the end of it. Roofs of that age tend to show the same problems: brittle shingles, cracked pipe boots, worn flashing and attics that were never ventilated properly.
Stopping Ice Dams on Taylorsville Homes
Most winter leaks we see in Taylorsville start as ice dams. Heat escaping into the attic melts snow on the upper roof, the water runs down to the colder overhang and refreezes, and the growing ridge of ice backs water up under the shingles.
The fix starts at the eave. Utah’s residential code calls for an ice barrier membrane from the edge of the roof to at least 24 inches inside the exterior wall, where the heated part of the house ends. Many older roofs were installed without one, or with a single course of felt that does nothing once water is pooling behind ice.
The other half is ventilation. An attic needs intake low at the soffit and exhaust high near the ridge so it stays close to outside temperature. Code sets the minimum net free area at 1/150 of the attic floor, or 1/300 when the vents are balanced between the upper and lower parts of the attic. We measure what a Taylorsville attic actually has before recommending a roof, because a new roof on a poorly ventilated attic will dam just like the old one.
Commercial and Flat Roofing in Taylorsville
Taylorsville’s main roads, including Redwood Road and 5400 South, are lined with retail centers, offices and small industrial buildings, most of them under flat or low-slope roofs. Flat and low-slope work is Dedication Roofing’s specialty.
We are an IB (Industry’s Best) certified applicator, so membrane roofs we install to manufacturer specification qualify for a 25-Year No Dollar Limit warranty from the manufacturer. For roofs that are aging but still watertight, we also apply protective coating systems and make targeted repairs, and we will tell you plainly when a coating is not worth it.
For homes, we install Malarkey shingle systems with matching starter and hip and ridge shingles, which is what raises Malarkey’s wind warranty from 110 mph to 130 mph.
Fascia, Soffit and Siding Repair in Taylorsville
Fascia is the board at the roof edge that carries the gutter, and soffit is the panel under the overhang. On Taylorsville homes they usually fail before the roof, because they take whatever the gutters overflow and whatever ice dams push back under the eave.
We repair and replace fascia, vented soffit and siding across Taylorsville. Vented soffit matters: it is the intake half of the attic ventilation system, and replacing rotted soffit with solid panel quietly undoes the ice dam protection described above. Most fascia and soffit jobs take one to two days unless the rafter tails behind the board need repair.
Roofing in Taylorsville means planning for winter snow, freeze-thaw cycles and summer hail. We handle roof repair, inspections, storm damage and full replacement on residential and commercial roofs. After a storm we document the damage, help with your insurance claim and tell you honestly whether the roof should be repaired or replaced. Every estimate is free and in writing.

Do you pull permits for roofing work in Taylorsville?
Yes. Dedication Roofing pulls the permits Taylorsville City requires for roofing work and builds inspection timing into the schedule, so there are no surprise delays once work starts.
Is my older roof worth repairing, or should I replace it?
It depends on the condition of the shingles, the decking and the flashing. A roof with localized damage can often be repaired; one with widespread brittle or curling shingles usually cannot. We inspect, photograph what we find and give you a straight answer.
Do you install and repair commercial flat roofs in Taylorsville?
Yes. Flat and low-slope commercial roofs are our specialty. Dedication Roofing is IB certified for membrane systems, and we also repair and coat existing flat roofs.
What warranties come with a new roof?
IB membrane flat roofs can carry a 25-Year No Dollar Limit manufacturer warranty. Malarkey shingle roofs carry the manufacturer’s warranty for the system installed, with enhanced wind coverage when the full Malarkey system is used.
